Discipleship and Mission Made Simple

The Startling Truth About Disciple-Making

Discipleship remains one of the most talked-about topics in the church — and one of the least practiced. We hold conferences, preach sermon series, launch programs. But most followers of Jesus still have no idea how to make a disciple. Something is deeply wrong with that picture.

In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, Caesar gets honest about the startling gap between what we call discipleship and what Jesus actually meant. What’s blocking it, why it’s so rare, and what it really looks like to live as a disciple who makes disciples. Not just a better church member. An actual disciple.

In This Episode You’ll Learn:

  • Why we’re probably not even talking about the same thing when we say “discipleship”
  • A practical definition of discipleship that finally makes sense
  • Why discipleship matters just as much for not-yet believers as for Christians
  • 7 roadblocks keeping you, your pastor, and your church from true discipleship

7 Reasons You Need To Play More

Ever since I was a young man I’ve loved riding motorcycles. I’ve talked to you about my love of Harleys before. But nowadays I am realizing that I don’t just enjoy riding and taking time to play–I really need to play. And often.

My natural tendency is to be a workaholic, and I tend to live with a sense that I have to keep this planet spinning on its axis. If I take too much time off we’re all doomed! Crazy right? But a little spin on my bike, some wind in my hair, and things quickly get better. (more…)

Is Your Comfort Zone Costing Your Soul?

Most of us have arranged our lives to be as comfortable as possible. And it makes sense — we’re tired, we’re busy, and comfort feels like wisdom. But somewhere under all that comfort is a nagging feeling that Jesus might have had something very different in mind for us.

In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, we’re going to get honest about what a life of comfortable faith actually costs — and what it’s costing the people around you. This isn’t guilt. It’s an invitation. Jesus called us to a mission, and that mission was never guaranteed to be easy.

In This Episode You’ll Learn:

  • 7 signs your faith has slipped into comfortable and complacent
  • The areas of life where comfort quietly crowds out mission
  • What the Gospel actually says about comfort and risk
  • How to take your next honest step toward a missional life

Blind Spots, Superpowers, and What God Sees

Most of us have a vague sense that we’re good at some things and bad at others — but we never slow down long enough to figure out what that actually means. We either ignore our strengths out of false humility, or we get blindsided by weaknesses we never saw coming. Sound familiar?

In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, we’re going to dig into how to discover your God-given strengths — and honestly face the blind spots that could trip you up. This isn’t a personality quiz detour. It’s an invitation to know yourself the way God already knows you.

In This Episode You’ll Learn:

  • Why knowing your strengths is an act of worship, not pride
  • The dangerous blind spots that quietly take people down
  • A practical self-assessment process guided by the Holy Spirit
  • How your superpower is meant for God’s glory, not just your resume
