[SPECIAL] What is Discipleship?

For a long time, the Church has majored in holding worship services and minored in discipleship and mission. Now that the Church has been scattered like never before as we enter into the “new normal”, will we seize the opportunity to restore the balance?

In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, I am sharing Day 1 of the Everyday Disciple Challenge – Embracing The New Normal. This is the audio from the Live training we did online. I share a practical, working definition and framework of discipleship that will forever change the way you make disciples of Jesus.

Are You Too Busy For Discipleship?

“I’m too busy for all of that!” We hear this opposition to discipleship as a lifestyle more than any other. And as crazy as it sounds, Churches say the same thing.

In this episode, Caesar asks the question: Are you too busy for discipleship? If you are honest, you may not be happy with your answer. Fear not! You’ll get some help to get started, or re-started, regardless of where you’re at today.

Is Discipleship Different for Women?

Men’s and women’s ministries have been separated in the church for years. But the church is a family. And when we disciple together, as a family in community, we experience deeper discipleship in every area of life.

In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, Caesar is joined by his wife Tina, and their friend and fellow disciple-maker, Barb Terry. He gets their perspective on women and discipleship. Are there differences? We find out that the answer is both “yes” and “no”.

Can Starfish Help Us Reimagine Church?

The Church was originally a decentralized movement. Before everything became housed in church buildings with hierarchical leadership, the priesthood of all believers was equipped and sent to make disciples.

In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, Caesar talks with Rob Wegner and Lance Ford about why the distributed structures of ‘starfish’ organizations uniquely fit the church today. Just like a starfish can reproduce itself fully from only one of its legs, churches with this type of regenerative ability are much more nimble in reacting to external change and outside forces.

Becoming a Family on Mission Pt.1

I’ve come to see discipleship, in many ways, as a re-parenting of people, a re-parenting of their culture. People need to understand and experience life in our perfect Father’s family and life in the Kingdom before they fully understand the love of God. Can others find that when they hang out with your family?

In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, you get a BONUS training done this week for folks in the Everyday Disciple Challenge. Caesar and his wife, Tina, share exactly how their family (Team K) rhythms grew to include many others as they make disciples in community. When living as a family on mission, discipleship naturally flows out of your normal family rhythms to include and draw more and more people to God’s family!
